Ads Launch & Management

Ads that run on something worth watching.

Your ad account, your card, no percentage of spend — and creative shot at your business rather than a logo on a colored square.

Most local businesses who say they tried advertising boosted a post. Nobody wrote it, nobody filmed it, and nobody looked at the numbers afterwards. That's a different job from a scripted campaign with creative made for it and somebody pacing it daily.

Metcalf Media builds campaigns around the service area you actually cover and the jobs you actually make money on, running against video shot at your business. The ad account stays in your own Business Manager, the platform bills your card directly, and the fee is flat — no percentage of spend, because percentage pricing pays an agency to recommend a bigger budget whether or not it's working.

Advertising is worth starting above roughly $750,000 a year in revenue, with somebody able to answer the phone when it rings. Below that a website does more good than paid traffic does, and you'll be told so.

You probably need this if

  • You boosted a post once and concluded ads don't work
  • Your agency takes a percentage of what you spend
  • You can't log in to your own ad account
  • Your ads are a logo on a colored background
  • Leads come in and nobody can say what they cost
  • You're paying for clicks to a page that was never built to convert
Here in Tulsa

A radius isn't a market

A circle drawn around a Tulsa shop crosses four counties and averages together places that have nothing in common. Median household income in Jenks is $111,004; in Skiatook it is $57,480. Median home value in Bixby is $334,200 and in Sapulpa $171,600.

Targeting all of that as one audience means paying the same to reach a customer who will never buy a $12,000 job as one who will. Campaigns get built to the towns the work is actually wanted in, which is a different shape from a radius.

How it runs

Strategy, Execution, Amplify.

  1. STEP 01

    Strategy

What one booked job is worth, which towns to run in, and what the offer needs to say.

  2. STEP 02

    Execution

Creative from the shoot day, campaigns built, tracking in place before a dollar is spent.

  3. STEP 03

    Amplify

Live, paced daily, new creative on a cycle, and reviewed out loud against the spend.

THE COST QUESTION

How much should a local business spend on ads?

Answers

Facebook & Instagram Ads, answered.

I already tried Facebook ads and nothing happened. Why would this be different?

Usually because what was tried was boosting a post, which is a different job from a scripted campaign with creative shot for it and somebody watching the numbers. Jeffrey Metcalf's own first attempt at running ads for a client failed, and it failed on the follow-up rather than the ads — the leads came in and got one call two days later, so Metcalf Media builds the follow-up first now.

Who owns the ad account?

The client does. It lives in the business's own Meta Business Manager with Metcalf Media added as a partner, so billing, pixel history and audiences stay with the business — an agency running ads from its own account is holding years of data hostage.

Do you take a percentage of ad spend?

No. Metcalf Media charges a flat fee and takes nothing off the top, because percentage pricing means an agency profits from recommending a bigger budget whether or not that budget is working.

How quickly do ads produce leads?

Weeks rather than months, because paid social doesn't wait on ranking the way search does — Metcalf Media's first detailing client booked $2,500 of work in his first week. Campaigns still need a few weeks to find their footing, and booked jobs follow at whatever rate the business closes them.

Should I wait until business slows down to start advertising?

No, that's the most expensive month to start. Campaigns take a few weeks to find their footing, so beginning in a slow month means paying for the ramp while you can least afford it — Metcalf Media builds during the good months for that reason.

The pieces either side of this one.

Each of these makes the others worth more. That's the whole argument for running them together.

Is facebook & instagram ads the right first move for you?

You'll know either way — including if the honest answer is that something else should come first.
