Metcalf Media
Content Day

One day with a camera. That's the whole ask.

Somebody else writes it, a crew of two comes to your place, you read the words and go back to work.

Almost nobody wants to be on camera, and the owner on camera is the thing a customer who has never heard of you actually responds to. That tension is why most local businesses stay invisible.

Metcalf Media removes as much of it as possible. The scripts are written before the shoot day. The crew is two people, not a production circus. It's one day at your own shop, in your own driveway, with your own trucks, and a quarter's worth of video and photography gets shot in that one visit.

Fifteen years behind a camera sits behind this, including production work for Head Country BBQ, the University of Tulsa, the BOK Center, Transformation Church and Supermercado Morelos. That's production work — Metcalf Media made their video, not their advertising.

You probably need this if

  • You know you should be on camera and you have been putting it off
  • Your last video got eleven likes and nine were people you know
  • You paid for a beautiful brand film and nothing happened after
  • Your photos are phone snaps taken on finished jobs
  • Your ads run on a logo against a colored background
  • You have no footage to hand an ad platform at all
Here in Tulsa

Shot here, in your driveway

Everything is filmed on location at the business — the shop, the lot, the truck, the job site — because a customer in this metro can tell the difference between a place they recognize and a stock library.

There's real production infrastructure here too: Owasso is a state-certified film-friendly community and Cherokee Film Studios runs two state-certified soundstages and an XR virtual-production volume on Highway 20. When a shoot needs a controlled space rather than a driveway, it doesn't have to leave the metro.

What's included

What the work actually is.

  • Scripts written before the shoot day
  • One day on location at your business

  • Photography from the same visit
  • Customer testimonials where customers will sit for them
  • Every file delivered to you
How it runs

Strategy, Execution, Amplify.

  1. STEP 01

    Strategy

What one job is worth, who you want more of, and what to say to them. Scripts get written from that.

  2. STEP 02

    Execution

One shoot day at your place. You read our words and go back to work.

  3. STEP 03

    Amplify

The footage feeds the ads, the site and the profile, and gets adjusted against what the account is doing.

Answers

Video & Photo Production, answered.

Do I have to be on camera?

One day, reading words somebody else wrote, with two people in the room. Metcalf Media can shoot the crew and the work instead if an owner genuinely won't do it, though it doesn't perform as well — a customer who has never heard of a business responds to the person who runs it more than to anything else on the screen.

How long does a shoot day take?

One day at the business for most clients, and a quarter of content is shot in that single visit. Metcalf Media writes the scripts beforehand specifically so the time on site stays short, because the ask on an owner's calendar is the main reason this work doesn't happen.

What's the difference between this and a brand film?

A brand film is one beautiful asset with no distribution plan behind it; this is a batch of creative made to be run. Metcalf Media produced brand films for years and watched them go nowhere because nobody owned where they ran, which is the reason the work is sold with the advertising attached now.

Who owns the footage?

The client does. Every file produced on a shoot day is delivered to the business, raw and edited, and Metcalf Media doesn't hold creative back as leverage — an agency withholding the footage it shot is relying on the hostage instead of the results.

Can you shoot vertical for reels and ads?

Yes, and it's shot alongside the horizontal cut on the same visit rather than as a separate job. Metcalf Media plans for both formats from the script stage, because the vertical cut is what runs as the advertisement and as the reel.
